The Halcro DM88 Reference was conceived to challenge the measurable limits of amplifier design. Rather than chasing headline peak figures, Halcro specifies continuous power output, ensuring real-world performance that remains stable under demanding conditions.
Each monoblock delivers:
-
>270W RMS into 8 ohms (continuous)
-
>500W RMS into 4 ohms (continuous)
-
Peak capability up to 2.1kW

What sets the DM88 apart is not merely its power, but its distortion performance. At full output up to 20kHz, distortion remains below 500 parts per billion (-126dB), effectively immeasurable at normal listening levels. At 1kHz, THD reaches as low as 100 parts per billion (-140dB). These figures place the DM88 in a category few amplifiers have approached.
The amplifier features a fully discrete topology with active power-factor correction and a heavily shielded universal power supply (85V–270V RMS), ensuring consistent operation regardless of regional mains conditions. Series and common-mode filtering further isolate the signal path from incoming noise.
Flexibility is equally considered. With four input configurations - Balanced Voltage (XLR), Unbalanced Voltage (RCA), Minimal Path, and Current Mode. The DM88 integrates seamlessly into a wide range of high-end systems. Discrete trigger codes allow precise remote on/standby control from partnering components.
Engineered with high slew rate capability (100V/µs), rapid overload recovery (1µs) and comprehensive protection circuits, the DM88 maintains composure under extreme dynamic swings while safeguarding both amplifier and loudspeakers.
The result is a monoblock that combines laboratory-grade precision with real-world drive capability, equally at home with complex multi-way speakers or the most demanding electrostatic designs.
