The Thorens TD 309 combines Thorens’ long-standing turntable expertise with a modern suspended-chassis design. Its innovative Tri-Balance suspension system is designed to provide effective isolation from external vibrations, while the electronically controlled, servo-driven DC motor provides stable 33 1/3 and 45 rpm operation.
The turntable features a 12-inch glass platter mounted on an aluminium sub-platter, together with the Thorens TP 92 tonearm. The TP 92 uses low-friction precision bearings, magnetic anti-skating and an aluminium arm tube designed to reduce unwanted resonance. The tonearm also allows adjustment of azimuth and overhang.
With its MDF plinth, suspended sub-chassis and external power supply, the TD 309 is designed to provide a carefully controlled platform for vinyl playback while maintaining a distinctive, minimalist appearance.
