The Wilson Audio Alexia Series 1 floorstanding loudspeaker was launched in 2012 and produced through 2017. Developed to bridge the gap between the compact Sasha W/P and the flagship Alexandria XLF, the Alexia Series 1 was engineered to deliver upper-tier time-domain accuracy and driver technology within a manageable, room-friendly footprint. Manufactured in Provo, Utah, each pair was built to order using Wilson Audio's proprietary composite materials and precision acoustic engineering.
Design Features and Enclosure Technology
The Alexia Series 1 utilizes a modular, three-enclosure architecture designed to isolate drive units and minimize acoustic interference. The upper enclosure housing the tweeter and midrange modules allows for precise alignment along the time axis, enabling precise group-delay adjustments tailored to the listener's seating distance and ear height. The cabinets are constructed from Wilson Audio’s proprietary dense composites: X-Material for high rigidity and dampening in the woofer and tweeter enclosures, and S-Material blended with X-Material for natural vocal rendition in the midrange housing. The woofer module is rear-ported, the midrange module is rear-vented, and the tweeter module operates in a sealed enclosure.
Driver Array and Acoustic Performance
A four-driver, three-way system powers the Alexia Series 1. High frequencies are handled by a 1-inch Convergent Synergy Doped Silk Fabric dome tweeter, designed to deliver linear high-frequency extension without listening fatigue. The midrange is reproduced by a 7-inch paper pulp composite driver derived from the Alexandria XLF. The low-frequency foundation is supplied by two distinct woofers—one 8-inch paper pulp driver and one 10-inch paper pulp driver—working in tandem within a stepped internal volume to yield authoritative, coherent bass response down to 20 Hz.
Finishes and Customization
The Alexia Series 1 was offered in a wide selection of Wilson Audio’s high-gloss automotive-grade paint finishes. Standard options included choices like Diamond Black, Dark Titanium, Desert Silver, and Argento Silver, alongside an extensive catalog of upgrade and custom-matched color options. Each enclosure underwent multi-stage sanding, priming, painting, and clear-coating processes to achieve a mirror-like finish, complemented by custom hardware and grille color combinations.
