Description

Elevate your analog recording experience with the Teac X1000M, a vintage showpiece renowned for its studio-grade performance and enduring build quality. Launched circa 1983, this two-track, four-head reel-to-reel recorder offers both 38 cm/s (15 ips) and 19 cm/s (7½ ips) speeds—delivering professional-grade fidelity.

Encased in a stylish black-faced veneer cabinet (or optional silver finish), and compatible with 7- to 10½-inch NAB reels, the X1000M features a dual-capstan, closed-loop servo mechanism for stable tape tension and minimal flutter.

At the audio front-end, enjoy dbx Type I noise reduction, ±6 % pitch control, and a diac tension servo—combined with controls like Rec-Mute, auto-spacer, and real-time LED tape counter with cue/reset functions.

Connectivity includes symmetrical front-panel mic and headphone jacks, and rear RCA line inputs/outputs with a DIN socket for synchronized cassette dubbing via 'Dupli-Sync.' Comprehensive monitoring is provided by large VU meters and independent channel level knobs, excellent for precise mixing.

Durable yet refined, the chassis houses three motors (capstan and reel), a heavy-duty metal platform, and neat PCB isolation. A wired RC-90 remote is optionally supported. At approximately 26 kg (cabinet on), this unit is built for the studio not portability.
