Iconic design

Building upon a rich legacy which began when we launched the original Concorde, the Concorde Music holds a storied history as one of the most famous cartridges in the world of audio.

Originally developed as a solution to the challenge of easy mounting on a tonearm without screws or wires, the Concorde's unique design earned the Danish Industrial Design Award and became an icon in
the audio industry.

Stylus

The Concorde Music Black LVB 250, featuring a Nude Shibata stylus on an Boron cantilever, offers an upgrade from the Concorde Music Bronze.

The shape of the Shibata distinguish itself by having a narrow and long contact surface. The Shibata is very close to the original cutting stylus which ensures the most accurate reproduction, low distortion and exteded frequency range. The use of an extremely stiff and lightweight Boron cantilever adds remarkable transparency, speed, and responsiveness.

Rubber suspension

A crucially important and vital part of a phono cartridge overall performance is the stylus rubber suspension.

Exclusive Ortofon rubber compounds are used for the stylus suspensions in the Concorde Music Blue, carefully produced at the inhouse rubber production, and developed by the research and engineering team at Ortofon for brilliant performance.

Specifications

  • Channel Balance at 1 kHz:
    1 dB
Indicates minimal difference in output between the left and right channels, ensuring precise stereo balance.

  • Output Voltage at 1 kHz, 5 cm/sec:
    6 mV
The voltage output produced by the cartridge under standard conditions, compatible with most phono preamps for strong signal output.

  • Channel Separation at 1 kHz:
    26 dB
Represents the degree of separation between the left and right audio channels at 1 kHz, contributing to clear and distinct stereo imaging.

  • Channel Separation at 15 kHz:
    20 dB
Indicates stereo separation at higher frequencies, ensuring clarity and detail in high-frequency sounds.

  • Frequency Response (20 Hz - 20 kHz):
    +2 / 0 dB
Describes the cartridge's frequency response across the audible spectrum, ensuring accurate sound reproduction with minimal deviation.

  • Tracking Ability at 315 Hz at Recommended Tracking Force:
    80 µm
Reflects the cartridge's ability to accurately follow the record grooves at 315 Hz with the recommended tracking force, indicating excellent tracking performance.

  • Compliance, Dynamic, Lateral:
    15 µm/mN
Measures the flexibility of the stylus assembly in response to lateral forces, important for precise groove tracking.

  • Stylus Type:
    Shibata Diamond on Boron Cantilever
The Shibata diamond stylus is known for its ability to extract fine details from the grooves, particularly at higher frequencies. The boron cantilever is preferred for its rigidity and lightweight properties, enhancing precision.

  • Stylus Tip Radius:
    r/R 6/50 µm
Describes the shape and size of the stylus tip, affecting how it contacts the record grooves. The Shibata shape is designed for superior high-frequency tracking and reduced record wear.

  • Tracking Force, Recommended:
    1.8 g
The optimal force applied by the tonearm on the stylus, ensuring accurate tracking without damaging the record or compromising sound quality.

  • Tracking Angle:
    20°
Ensures the stylus aligns correctly with the groove, minimizing distortion and preserving sound fidelity.

  • Internal Impedance, DC Resistance:
    1.27 kΩ
This electrical resistance influences how the cartridge interacts with the phono stage, affecting tonal characteristics.

  • Cartridge Colour:
    Black/Black
Indicates the color scheme of the cartridge, which is often used for model identification.

  • Cartridge Weight:
    18 g
The weight of the cartridge, important for setting the correct tracking force and ensuring proper tonearm balance.

  • Recommended Load Resistance:
    47 kΩ
The ideal resistance for the phono preamp, ensuring the best performance and sound quality from the cartridge.
